Huel documents sources and methods; takes flak; replies

Article

In the linked article, Huel’s nutritionist James Collier details the way each ingredient is harvested and processed, and where it is gotten from.

In this lengthy forum thread, users take Huel to task for sourcing ingredients from India and China, when the same crops (sunflower oil, pea and rice protein) are available within the E.U., and some suggest that the sources are chosen to maximize profit.

Only a few posts down, Collier replies at length to counter, listing a number of considerations besides profit that go into the choice of a supplier, and insisting that nutritional quality, not cost, is the top motive when sourcing an ingredient.
