Fluoride

Fluoride

At the beginning of the 20th century, the young dentist?Frederick McKay opened his first dental practice in Colorado Springs. He discovered that many locals had terrible brown stains on their teeth. The cause of the stains remained unknown for another 30 years until McKay and his colleagues found out that fluoride had a role to play in tooth decay.

Chloride

Chloride

Chloride is one of the two components that make up table salt, next to sodium. This means that it?s probably in most foods you have. Still, it wouldn?t be a surprise if you?ve never heard about it. Often hidden in sodium?s notorious shadow, chloride is less well studied on its own. We need it to stay healthy, but does it also play a part in the adverse health effects attributed to sodium? Let?s take a look at the facts about chloride.

JakeFood talks Potassium

JakeFood talks Potassium

Potassium is a wizard of contrasts. As a pure element, it just can?t sit still, reacting violently with water and oxygen. As a nutrient, however, it takes on a role as peacekeeper, maintaining the balance of fluids in your body and keeping your blood pressure in check. Love it or hate it, you need potassium in your life. Let?s take a look at what you need to know about it.

Magnesium

Magnesium

Magnesium is produced in aging stars. When stars become supernovas and explode, magnesium is dispersed into space. And that?s the short story of how it ended up on Earth, particularly in the Greek district of Magnesia, where it was first found by man and got its name. It?s probably safe to say that magnesium came a long way to end up on your plate. Let?s have a look.

"Highly recommended, especially oaty vanilla flavour"
December 23, 2018 @ 01:09

Tried all three flavours. Oaty vanilla is my favourite, the best vanilla flavour I’ve tasted yet. Mixed better than most other complete foods, and kept flavour.
Pouches are not resealable – an issue if don’t want the full pouch.
Highly recommended.
Love how all their products are vegan. Please bring out more flavours!
Prefer Jake light, as higher protein content.

"Floury and not as eco-friendly as it could be"
October 31, 2018 @ 19:37

The texture put me off most. It’s floury. The taste isn’t amazing either. Also, I don’t get how it’s 160g for a meal whereas Huel and others it’s closer to 40g. I also don’t like that each meal is in a packet – sometimes you only want a small meal (normally less powder), but here, that’s no so convenient. And that’s without the additional packaging required.
