Queal Go Bars are better than ever…
Recently I snagged a few of Queal’s updated Go Bars and gave them a taste test. I used these as my main snack for about a week and as of today, they’re two of my favourite nutritionally complete snack options available – but I’m getting ahead of myself.

We were a little surprised to find that meal replacement users are overwhelmingly male and in the tech industry. It’s a bit upsetting to find all the stereotypes are true: Soylent users are male geeks almost exclusively.
We can imagine, when you?re on-the-go for most of the time or when you aren?t really a morning person, breakfast is not your favourite meal of the day.?Based on the ?Eating at Work? research, carried out by Eurest, skipping breakfast on a regular basis is quite common. Twenty percent of the Dutch employees skip their breakfast frequently, where Swedish employees lead with a percentage of 43.
japanmads "Can't get enough of all those different flavours!" January 19, 2017 @ 11:48
I looove food. But I have a deskjob (IT) in the Netherlands and the Dutch aren’t known for their fine cuisine. This unfortunately means the Dutch don’t do lunch very well. So buying lunch is always a disappointment – Here’s a cheese sandwich (only one type of cheese), that’ll be four euros please. Ugh!
So finding out about Queal lite was kind of a blessing for me. Now I can have cheap, healthy, ok-tasting, quick lunches! No more feeling full with expensive mediocre lunches behind your desk. I have a sitting job, what do I need all those calories for?!
I really like that Queal has so many flavours (I’ve tasted 11!). My first concern about replacing my breakfast and lunch with liquid food was that I would get bored of it really soon. But I’ve been using Queal 2 times a day for over 4 months now (first order: September 11 2016) and I’m not sick of it yet (yay). I think it has to do with the huge amount of flavours.
The only downside to using Queal lite is that the powder doesn’t mix as well as the standard Queal. After 2 minutes of vigorous shaking I still have small kernels of powder. It doesn’t bother me that much, but it does affect the texture and overall experience. Would be nice if they could fix that.
I now premix two bottles of Queal lite in the morning – I don’t like how my colleagues look at me when I try to shake the living daylight out of a bottle two times a day…
One thing caught me off guard when using Queal Lite. I started out using Queal standard and switched to Queal Lite after a month or two. I noticed that I felt a bit peckish at the end of the day. This was off course completely normal as I was taking in less calories, but I didn’t register because I was still drinking the same liquid volumes. The hungry feeling at the end of the day went away after two weeks. Now I sometimes forget to drink my Queal! Don’t do that. Don’t forget to drink your food…
