Don’t skip breakfast, sip Soylent Cafe: a balanced breakfast and your morning coffee in one convenient bottle. Our plant-based formula provides a nutritious meal and the stimulating effects of caffeine. Cafe Coffiest and Cafe Vanilla both contain as much caffeine as a strong cup of coffee, while Cafe Chai contains as much as a cup of black tea.

Breakfast, intelligently designed. Not just part of a breakfast, it is one.

Soy protein: Soy protein isolate provides a smooth texture and robust amino acid profile.

Sunflower oil: High oleic sunflower oil is a high-quality source of monounsaturated fats and contains no trans fat.

Caffeine: Sometimes you need a boost to get your morning started, or to finish your afternoon strong. For a strong jolt of energy, choose Cafe Coffiest or Cafe Vanilla. For a more gentle lift, Cafe Chai is the best choice.

L-theanine: The amino acid l-theanine, found in green tea, has been found to reduce the “jitters” associated with caffeine consumption.

Convenience that doesn’t sacrifice flavor: Whether it’s the rich coffee and chocolate taste of Cafe Coffiest, the smooth flavor of Cafe Vanilla, or the spicy sweetness of Cafe Chai — there’s no doubt that the Soylent Cafe line provides the most delicious and convenient breakfast you’ve ever had!

Responsible nutrition: Using no animal products, Soylent Cafe’s efficiency goes beyond your morning. All of our packaging is recyclable, and each purchase you make helps us to help others: to date, we’ve donated over one million meals to those in need.

"Good but not great"
October 24, 2020 @ 04:21

I’ve tried most Soylent flavors and was not a fan of Coffiest. In theory it’s great, I drink Soylent for breakfast and would love to throw some caffeine into the mix, but the taste is pretty marginal. Like another reviewer said Coffiest taste like pretty bad instant coffee. I’d much rather have some caffeine mixed into Cocoa or Creamy Chocolate. If you want a quick meal and some caffeine though, it’s the way to go. Definitely beats drinking a Soylent AND a cup of coffee (too much liquid in your stomach first thing in the morning). I haven’t tried the other flavors but hope they are a bit tastier because it’s a great idea on paper.

"Good for a boost in the morning, but not perfect"
August 30, 2017 @ 15:39

I have recently tried all of the Cafe flavors, and they align well with the other 2.0 flavors. They are mixed in production, so the textures are always consistent and very smooth. The caffeine boost in the morning is nice, but it also seems these feel less filling than the other 2.0 and powder flavors. I’m not sure if that is just the caffeine taking effect, though.

Coffiest: Tastes kind of like bad instant coffee to me. After a few you can get used to it and it’s not bad, but not my favorite.

Cafe Vanilla: Tastes close to coffiest, but with some vanilla added in. This does help smooth out the flavor a bit, and is pretty good.

Cafe Chai: A very light chai flavor, kind of wish it was a bit stronger. This flavor also has less caffeine than the coffee-based counter parts.

"Mostly great!"
August 24, 2017 @ 21:52

Love having a caffeinated Soylent for those rushed mornings, when I don’t have the time to sit down and enjoy my usual hot brewed coffee. It is a bit pricy for me, but I only have a bottle every once in a while. The texture is perfectly smooth and you can’t beat the convenience. I’ll further break it down into the 3 flavors, all of which I have tried.

Coffiest: Like a Starbucks mocha, but not sweet. I neither liked nor disliked the taste, but I’m not a big fan of chocolate in the first place (I know, crazy).

Vanilla: Reminds me of one of those Starbucks frappuccino bottles. Really good! I much prefer Vanilla over Coffiest. I found it has a little bit of a bitter, chemical aftertaste that I don’t like, but I have no problem ignoring it. This is my Cafe flavor of choice.

Chai: I thought I would love this one, but I was a bit disappointed, despite being a usual lover of all things chai. It tastes like soapy cinnamon to me. I only drank about half the box before trading away the rest with my SO (in exchange for some delicious Original).

"Sweet, delicious, cinnamon Chai"
August 23, 2017 @ 15:23

This review is over the Chai flavor. I’m not a coffee drinker so I don’t care to try the other two.

I LOVE SOYLENT CHAI! I drink at least one a day. It’s easily my first Soylent flavor to run out before I reorder and it’s so dissapointing going to the fridge and not being able to grab one. Especially in the mornings. I’m not a big caffine consumer either, but the tiny little kick that this has in the mornings is pretty nice. From what I’ve heard it has caffine similar to that of a can of coke. The first sip of this all I could taste was the cinnamon. The first bottle or two seemed okay, I thought I might not reorder it. But man, after my brain adjusted to the high cinnamon levels and I started getting the creamyness and other chai flavors I fell in love. I wish that it cost the same as the original flavor, or ideally if all the drinks went down in price that’d be great, but I am *just* willing to pay the price for these. If there we $4 rather than the $3.60 something I don’t think I could justify it.

"Chai is superb"
August 23, 2017 @ 12:21

This is tough to review, because how can I use one number to rate the flavor of three different flavors?

If you like coffee, the Coffeist and Cafe Vanilla are supposedly pretty good. If you dislike coffee, then Coffeist and Cafe Vanilla aren’t worth even trying. I was able to force one bottle of Coffeist down, but you couldn’t pay me to drink any more. The Cafe Vanilla is still mostly coffee with some vanilla, while I was hoping for a little coffee with a strong vanilla flavor. If I don’t use mouthwash after drinking Cafe Vanilla, the coffee flavor can linger in my mouth for hours, and because coffee is gross, I dislike that. So don’t be misled by the Vanilla name; it’s mostly coffee.

The Cafe Chai, however, is wonderful, so that’s what I’m reviewing with the numbers. It’s incredibly easy to drink, is very tasty, and is obviously nutritious.

"Nice, even energy boost from the caffeine and l-theanine"
April 6, 2017 @ 18:46

This a very delightful drink, if it weren’t a meal I would still drink it for leisure. It leaves you feeling nicely full, has a great flavour, and is enjoyable to drink. I prefer it refrigerated but it is still good at room temperature as well. I found it very easy to digest, but I had already been drinking regular soylent before trying Coffiest so there wasn’t much adjustment required.

"Enjoyable to drink"
November 21, 2016 @ 04:41

I really enjoyed Coffiest. I prefer it in flavor and texture to Soylent. I like to drink it over ice, making it extra cold made some of the ‘lumpiness’ go away. 2.0 makes me gag without any flavoring, but I never had problems with Coffiest. Didn’t ever get sick from it, though I got an upset stomach a lot and had gas for days.
