Vegan is a nutritionally complete powdered meal replacement shake made in Germany by Bertrand Bio. Shipping is available internationally.
Meal sizes are typically 687Kcal with a suggested serving size of 168g powder with 450ml Water and provide 34g fat, 20g protein and 79g carbohydrates, with 9g fibre.
When it comes to taste; Vegan is available as Apple, Bilberry, Unflavoured, vanilla.
BERTRAND Vegan builds upon the optimal nutrition provided by the Bertrand Classic meal replacement but contains only plant based ingredients. It still represents the culmination of the study of what constitutes food from a scientific perspective and provides a fantastic nutritional balance.

"Good-ish"

I was somewhat disappointed by their taste.
For example the apple pie was quite praised, but I found it at most average, I mean i could taste the cinnamon, a vague apple hint plus the Bertrand-base taste but that’s about it. I thought i would like something crunchy, but after trying it i realised that i prefer the smooth and creamy kind of shakes.
The vanilla was also underwhelming … I’ve returned the rest. Sorry but not for me,

Came across Bertrand while looking for something to spice up my usual lent routine (largely consisting of Lently).
After you get past the strange name (still haven’t figured out its meaning), you get a pretty amazing product. The shake is completely organic, there are certificates for most of the ingredients, the glycemic index and if you dig a bit deeper, a whole lot of info on how they do stuff.
Packaging is good (3 meals per bag), shipping quite fast and support answers within a day or two.
The shake comes in three flavors (vanilla, bilberry, apple & cinnamon) and natural. Apple & cinnamon tastes amazing, vanilla was a tad too chemical for me and bilberry was quite OK. Haven’t tasted natural yet. I’d say it could do with a bit less of the sweetness.
Texture is chewy as they leave bits and pieces of nuts and seeds in it, which I really like. It becomes thicker if you leave it sit for a while. Shakes are satiating, could easily replace a meal with them.
The only two downsides are that the flavoring is not really natural (as in fruit powder) and comes across a bit strong/artificial. Other one is the price tag with around 3? per meal if you buy the largest package. Given the quality of ingredients and overall experience, it’s a fair price but depending on what you really look for in a lent, you can get away much cheaper with some of the other brands.
I’ve adopted Bertrand as an occasional meal replacement for every now and then – would recommend, will buy again.Chose the vegan version as it doesn’t contain any lactose – glad they offer that option.
