Feed Smart Food Chocolate Paste – Healthy Nutella?!

Feed Smart Food Chocolate Paste – Healthy Nutella?!

Feed Chocolate paste is a more nutrient-dense alternative to things like Nutella which is just a sugar bomb wrapped in palm oil. Complete foods are transitioning to more familiar forms. A smart move because not everybody likes the shake form. I’ve predicted this development for a while, and I’m delighted to see it happening. The […]

Feed Smart Food – Complete Food Vegetables Flavor & Meal Bar

Feed Smart Food – Complete Food Vegetables Flavor & Meal Bar

? Feed Smart Food is a complete food brand from France. They offer powdered meals as well as bars. In this review, I’ll try their vegetable flavors. Not many brands provide savory tastes, so I was pretty excited to try them out. As a dessert, I tried the Feed Smart Food bars. Banana/Chocolate and Coconut/Chocolate. […]

Brief reviews of Feed, Runtime, Glycogenesis and Saturo

Brief reviews of Feed, Runtime, Glycogenesis and Saturo

After starting off on the wrong foot, I wanted to try out complete foods for my lunch again, and asked for advice on Reddit. Generously, a few european manufacturers offered to send me free samples, and after ordering a few packages of my own as well, I wanted to share my thoughts on what I’ve tried (so far).

"Chocolate review"

Tried the chocolate one. Tastes and smells about the same as Huel chocolate, but much less thick and easier to drink. Taste and smell is slightly off and texture is a bit too fluid for me (I’m looking for a creamier texture). Unfortunately they use maltodextrin which has been shown to have higher GI than refined sugar, and behaves in similar ways.

"Bad experience"
September 9, 2019 @ 09:26

In France, I was able to buy a few bottles separately in physical stores. Thanks to that I was able to test several really different tastes without having to buy big bags. One of the strengths of Feed is the number of tastes they have, but none really appealed to me.
The first problem is that you can not mix in a bottle without lumps. Then it had a pretty oily taste. I had a lot of trouble finishing my bottles.
Today I learned a little more about the ingredients in this kind of meal. In feed there is a lot of sugar (glucose syrup, isultomatosis), maltodextrin and few real ingredients.
In view of this poor quality it is rather expensive.
I just thank feed and its huge marketing for making me interested in powdered meal.

"Convenient and tasty"

Very convenient, I use Feed bottles when I travel or when I know I’ll go exercise and lack time to prepare a proper dinner.
It’s also a super cheap meal option.
I tried chocolate and tomato and I liked both. They are really filling and I wasn’t hungry until the following meal. Easy digestion too
The only thing is that it takes a while to get used to the whole mixing process to avoid small lumps but once you get used to it it’s fine!

Rien – redire !

"Good flavour for something that's completely vegan!"
February 4, 2017 @ 10:08

I tried the starterpack, which contained two bars and three to-go bottles. I’ll review the to-go bottles here.

Easy to take with you, but it’s really just a waste of plastic resources. The chocolate and coffee flavours were pretty nice. Not as creamy compared to powders with whey-protein, but definitely a great taste for something that is vegan. Way to go!

So that was the choco and coffee flavour, now the garden vegetable flavor. I don’t like this at all. It tastes like a flavourless cup-a-soup. Where those cup-a-soup packages are just salt with soupflavour. This was more like soup with no salt at all. Too bad, I had high hopes. I want to cut back on whey-protein, but I guess there is no good substitute yet.

Also, I can’t quite get a good mix using the bottles. So I switched to using mixing bottles from other brands. This solved the problem. But now I have unused plastic bottles that I just bin. That’s a waste.

I’d give it an 7 for flavor, but the garden veg really drags down the average. I had to flush it 🙁
